Wetland Plant Ecology Postdoctoral Research Associate

The Roberts Lab of Ecosystem Ecology and Biogeochemistry is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in wetland plant ecology to help organize and lead a series of field studies and manipulative experiments studying the effects of the Macondo Oil Spill on coastal marsh ecosystems. Specifically, they will be collaborating with the wetland biogeochemistry, microbial ecology, and plant ecology group of the Coastal Waters Consortium (CWC) led by Drs. Brian Roberts (LUMCON), Anne Giblin (Marine Biological Laboratory), and Anne Bernhard (Connecticut College). Wetland Biogeochemistry Research Associate or Assistant

The Roberts Lab of Ecosystem Ecology and Biogeochemistry is seeking a Research Associate or Assistant in Wetland Biogeochemistry to participate in a series of field/laboratory and manipulative experiments studying the effects of the Macondo Oil Spill on coastal marsh ecosystems. The Associate or Assistant will join a large, multi-institution team of researchers on the Coastal Waters Consortium (CWC) project funded by the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative to study the impacts of the oil spill and future spills on marshes and coastal environments. Facilities/Maintenance Superintendent and Project Administrator

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Facilities Superintendent will lead and supervise the Facilities Maintenance Division of LUMCON. The candidate will be responsible for the oversight of the maintenance department, security department, cafeteria and dormitory including custodial departments, and serves as Safety Manager of the agency. The position assigns, instructs, directs, oversees, and inspects the work and progress of all named departments and on-going projects. The Superintendent must be knowledgeable in budget preparation, spending, and accountability. The Facilities Maintenance Division is responsible for all maintenance of LUMCON-owned buildings and land including pump houses, special projects, grounds upkeep and oversight, and assisting in all special events. This candidate will also be responsible for the upkeep and oversight of the LUMCON Fourchon Facility. Open until filled.

Chemical Oceanographer and/or Physical Oceanographer (Assistant Professor[s])

We invite scientists that address a wide range of fundamental problems in ocean and coastal sciences as well as interdisciplinary research questions using observations, modeling, theory, and laboratory experiments to apply. Specialties of interest include but are not limited to: 1) ocean acidification, 2) marine inorganic carbon chemistry, 3) carbon cycle-climate interactions, 4) air-sea interactions, 5) decadal-scale climate variability, 6) coastal dynamics and circulation, and/or 7) oceanic-scale circulation with an emphasis on the Gulf of Mexico. Review of applicants will begin November 15, 2017 and will continue until position is filled. This position is part of a cluster hire.
