R/V Acadiana

At 58 feet, the R/V Acadiana excellently meets educational and research needs. Her early 2017 retrofit gave her an array of new, state-of-the-art electronics and updated her living spaces.

The R/V Acadiana provides a unique, hands-on teaching platform perfect for field trips that allow students to be oceanographers, with half-day or full-day cruises available to Terrebonne Bay. The Acadiana consistently offers unparalleled shipboard science experiences for students and teachers alike.

Research cruises comfortably house four Scientists up to 5 consecutive days for use in Gulf coastal waters. The R/V Acadiana has installed deck equipment including a trawl winch, a capstan, a port side davit, and a starboard side davit. A flow through system using a SBE 21 SeaCAT Thermosalinograph provides scientists with real-time data. The 01 deck has ample storage space to accommodate scientists’ needs.
