CONSORTIUM

LUMCON is a program of the Louisiana Board of Regents. Our consortium is made up of all 32 public postsecondary institutions plus the ten member institutions of the LAICU. The partnerships and collaborations among the consortium offer a wide variety of resources and expertise to serve as an incubator and leader for marine science in Louisiana, throughout the Gulf of Mexico, and across the globe. LUMCON’s strength is that it can act as a facilitator for the synthesis of ideas and data.  Equipped with laboratory- and field-based equipment and two facilities LUMCON also bolsters scientific progress. LUMCON has the diversity of tools and knowledge through Consortium partnerships to find solutions to problems facing coastal Louisiana, the Gulf of Mexico, and ocean ecosystems at large.
