R/V Pelican Chef
LUMCON is seeking a Chef for the RV Pelican. LUMCON vessels support science operations and associated functions in the Gulf, Caribbean, and western Atlantic Ocean. Scientists from all over the world are aboard LUMCON vessels for up to 200 days a year conducting research in support of major ocean science initiatives funded by the National Science Foundation, Office of Naval Research, National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, and other federally supported ocean science agencies.
Postdoctoral Research Associate – Ocean Biofluids Lab
The Ocean Biofluids Lab led by Dr. Kevin Du Clos at Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON) seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Research Associate for an NSF-funded research project exploring the roles of understudied gelatinous organisms in marine food webs. The primary research focus of the lab is understanding interactions between marine organisms and their physical fluid environments, using imaging and numerical modeling techniques.

LUMCON is seeking a Front Desk & Guest Services Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for our organization. This role is vital in ensuring a positive and efficient experience for all visitors, guests, researchers, and staff interacting with the LUMCON facility.
Maintenance Assistant
The Maintenance Assistant must be familiar with a wide range of crafts including, but not limited to, landscaping, plumbing, painting, and carpentry. The Maintenance Assistant uses hand and power tools necessary for mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and painting and other repairs.
Research Technician – Ocean Biofluids Lab
The Ocean Biofluids Lab seeks to hire a Research Technician. The research focus of the lab is understanding interactions between marine organisms and their physical fluid environments, using imaging and numerical modeling techniques. The successful applicant will assist Dr. Du Clos with laboratory imaging experiments, plankton field sampling, maintaining algal cultures, and processing image data.
