RECEPTIONIST/CUSTOMER SERVICE
The LUMCON Receptionist/Customer Service Point of Contact will attend to visitors and accommodate all aspects of reserving/preparing/fulfilling the LUMCON experience.
BTNEP STUDENT WORKER
The BTNEP Student Worker will assist the Office Manager/Director’s Assistant with daily responsibilities including but not limited to answering phones, attending to visitors and the general public, filing, checking mail daily, assisting in written final minutes for management conference meetings, and other reporting, keep track of publication inventory (complete requests and mail outs for products from web, phone, and email responses). In addition, the student will be required to take out recycling and trash, water plants, keep the front office clean, making sure vehicles are cleaned and fueled up for the next staff member.
Grants Officer
The Grants Officer works collaboratively with the LUMCON Finance Department and leadership team including the Executive Director/Chief Scientist, Marine Superintendent, Research Faculty, Education staff, and staff of the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program (BTNEP).
Data Curator
LUMCON is seeking applicants for a Data Curator. The Data Curator will participate broadly in the general operational activities of the IT team’s mission to develop and support IT systems at LUMCON.
Native Plant Nursery Worker
BTNEP is now hiring part time Nursery Workers. Nursery Workers will work at BTNEP’s Native Plant Nursery located on the Nicholls State University Farm in Thibodaux, Louisiana. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in helping protect and restore critical coastal Louisiana habitat through maintaining and increasing herbaceous and woody plants utilized in vegetative plantings for restoration projects within the Barataria-Terrebonne estuary basins.
Coastal or Marine Science Faculty
LUMCON seeks to hire multiple new Assistant Professors as part of a multi-year faculty expansion. We are interested in hiring interdisciplinary scientists whose research addresses fundamental and applied questions in ocean and coastal sciences. We invite qualified coastal or marine scientists, regardless of discipline, whose research uses observational, modelling, theoretical, and/or experimental approaches, to apply for open positions based at both the Cocodrie and Houma locations.
