VISIT THE DEFELICE MARINE CENTER

Most LUMCON employees are housed at the DeFelice Marine Center at 8124 Highway 56, Chauvin, LA (985-851-2800). The Marine Center is open for self-guided tours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm seven days a week. You can meet the animals in our aquaria, learn about Louisiana’s marine side with our educational exhibits, climb the observation tower for a bird’s-eye view of the marsh, and birdwatch from our pond boardwalk.

Public groups (more than 10 people) are welcome to schedule a guided tour or a longer trip (including educational activities) into the salt marshes, bays, or island environments near Cocodrie.  Contact our Associate Director of Education and Outreach to learn more and schedule a trip.

You could also come see us during one of our events, schedule time with one of our research and education experts, or enroll yourself or a student in one of our courses or camps.

Note: Until further notice, the Hwy 56 bridge at Robison Canal is closed.  Please use Hwy 57/Grand Caillou Road as an alternate route.  If you’d like detailed driving directions you can email us at information@lumcon.edu.
